How to choose
Quick Buying Considerations for Large Dog Houses
Measure the inside and the entrance
A large label does not tell you how much room is usable. Compare interior width, depth, and height with your dog’s standing, turning, and resting space. Check doorway height and width separately; thick walls and raised thresholds can reduce the practical opening.
Check the structure
Larger panels and roofs need stable joints and a secure base. Review the stated materials, floor support, assembly method, and weight. Weather-resistant surfaces matter outdoors, but ventilation still needs attention so the interior does not become stuffy or damp.
Make maintenance realistic
Look for access that lets you reach the floor and corners, remove bedding, and dry the interior. Consider where the house will sit, how rainwater drains away, and whether its weight makes seasonal repositioning difficult. Avoid choosing dimensions solely from a breed label.
